The online store Thredup is my latest obsession, its my go-to place for clothes shopping, and I’ll tell you why…
I’ve always had a nostalgic love for second-hand stores and the hunt to find hidden treasures, but it when it comes to clothing it usually ends in disappointment, and its difficult to find something good. I might find something I like, but it’s probably not in my size.
On Thredup, there is a massive inventory of items and you can browse by your size! It’s as though all the second-hand stores grouped together to build one giant superstore that you can browse in the comfort of your home. All items are displayed on a mannequin, which allows you to see how the item hangs. They have an excellent vetting process, so all items are in excellent condition and some are are brand new condition and with tags.
The thing I love most about Thredup is their designer clothing section. You can find everything from Diane von Furstenberg and Alexander McQueen to Kate Spade and Coach. In most cases, you can buy designer items for high street prices. However, some designer pieces hold their value more than others, and their discount won’t be quite as much. With Thredup, I also appreciate the safety of knowing that the items I’m ordering are genuine designer goods.
Ordered items arrive packed beautifully, like you’ve just ordered something new!
Just to give you a brief idea of what you could save, I’ll share with you my experience. In one order I purchased a total of 13 items for $342.53, which at retail would have cost 82% more at around $1,805. So I saved $1,462.47, helped the environment by buying second hand, and saved my bank account in the process.
